How This Journey Began
The Starting Point
SGF Labs began in 2020 as a founder-led initiative and was incorporated in 2021.
The early focus was not rapid scale, but understanding how complex B2B commerce functions under real operating conditions.
To develop this understanding, SGF Labs chose to operate within the problem itself.
The team built a B2B marketplace, sourcegoodfood.com, to address procurement and visibility challenges in the industrial food ingredient sector. The objective was straightforward: simplify buying and selling in a fragmented market.
Over three years, the platform was built in-house and operated end to end. This included cataloging, vendor onboarding, pricing management, logistics coordination, and customer support.
These constraints shaped SGF Labs’ approach. The work remains grounded in direct operating experience rather than theory.
